ROUGH CUT

This is the first cut of our opening sequence and we got feedback from a few people. The main comments were:
  • Some shots are shaky so need to be reshot.
  • We need to carry on working on the diegetic and non-diegetic sound.
  • Some shots need to be cut down or taken out to reduce the time of the opening sequence as it is too long at the moment.

Filming process 4

Reshooting previous shots that were shaky or shots that we needed to add in.
- Sunday 29th January 2017

The first time we filmed the shot below it was very shaky, so this one had to be reshot. We had to make sure it looked the same in the different days we shot, so we went at a time of day that would have very similar lighting to before.

These are the final shots of the girl seeing the unusual toy in the tunnel.

Filming process 3

Filming in the tunnel
- Saturday 7th/22nd January 2017

The tunnel shots were very atmospheric as they created dark shadows inside and this is more obvious in the close up shot of the little girl.

Filming process 2

Filming in the park
- Saturday 7th/ Sunday 22nd January 2017

This is the shot of the girl entering the playground in a trance after hearing the laughter. The low level light creates a moody/creepy feeling.

These are some shots of the flashback, the lighting is brighter as the day was sunnier giving a happier feeling.

During the flashback the 'figure' places their hand on the young girls shoulder as if they are pushing her, but their identity is hidden, so leads the audience feeling tense.

Filming process 1

Filming in the house
- Saturday 7th January 2017

This is our first shot of the teenage girl opening her eyes and waking up.

This shot was taken inside of the wardrobe, we wanted to get the effect of the hangers being in high focus in the foreground but the girl in low focus in the background. It also indicates that she is getting dressed but without having to show every single shot.

This shot was challenging as we had to make sure that the camera can not be seen in the mirror.

The room was rearranged so that the ballerina painting was seen in the reflection of the mirror, giving a slightly creepy, trapped feeling. Also paintbrushes and pencils were placed in the room in order to highlight her artistic side and this foreshadows to the drawing that she drew as a child and receives in the post.

Storyboard

This is the storyboard for our opening sequence, it shows the three main scenes, the scene in the house of the girl waking up and opening the letter, then her walking to the park and finding the swing (flashback occurs) and finally the scene of the bridge (another flashback).

It shows each shot we want and the type of shot, for example close up of the letter and the drawing of the girl. We need to add sound to the storyboard so it is clear when the dialogue occurs and also the music.
